In-store health services

Our highly trained colleagues offer customers a wide range of health services within their communities.

Our pharmacists

ASDA has over 170 pharmacies around the UK, and each is open for at least 75 hours every week. We also have hundreds of colleagues trained as dispensing technicians up to NVQ level two, who work alongside our pharmacists to provide a full range of health services.

That means all of our customers can enjoy repeat prescription collection from their GP’s surgery, a review of their medication, and general health advice – all delivered free of charge, and in the comfort of our private consultation rooms. We also work closely with local primary care trusts to offer information and services specific to each community we serve.

Through our partnerships with national charities such as Diabetes UK, the Blood Pressure Association and the British Heart Foundation, we offer shoppers free diabetes testing and blood pressure 'MOT' tests.

Smoking support

Every year, around four million people in the UK try to stop smoking, but less than ten per cent of them succeed. As part of our commitment to helping people act on the issues that matter to them, we actively support our customers and colleagues in their efforts to give up smoking.

As well as providing useful advice and guidance through our pharmacies and through store based activities, we also stock a range of treatments to help people kick the habit.

What's more, customers and colleagues can also make use of the free mobile clinics held at our stores around the country, every year on national No Smoking Day.
